Who we are

Lighthouse Toys is an independent family business that was established in 2004.

We specialise in toys that are chosen for their educational value. We believe that learning is best achieved when we are enjoying ourselves, and so toys must be fun.

Our shop is designed so that there is good accessibility for wheelchairs and double buggies.

It is organised so that there are several play-tables available for use - resulting in a relaxed shopping atmosphere whilst intense playing is underway…

The services we provide

In the shop we pride ourselves on helping our customers to choose their toys. This can be as simple as directing them to the right part of the shop, or finding a specific toy to help the child learn the times table. Parents have also been recommended by educational and health professionals to visit us for advice on choosing a toy to meet a specific need.

We want our webshop to be a reflection of the values we hold in our physical shop and we would love to be able to help all our customers to choose their toys. If you need specific help, please contact us by email or phone.

Our achievements

Our shop is being recognised nationally within the UK toy industry. We are one of the three regional finalists for the award 'Toy Shop of the Year' for 2007 (the region comprises Wales, the Midlands and East Anglia). The competition is organised by the Toy Retailers Association, of which we are a member.

Our physical shop is open from 9am - 5pm, Monday to Saturday. It is closed on Sundays and Bank holidays.

Lighthouse Toys is situated on the High Street of Histon, with easy access from Cambridge, the A14, A10 & M11. Parking is also free within the village centre.
