Pricing

The pricing is in British pounds (Stirling) and includes VAT at the current appropriate UK rate. Please contact us for delivery outside of the EU, or for purchase by a VAT registered EU business.

Delivery

For delivery within the UK mainland, there is a charge of £4.95 for orders under £75. We will contact you if there are additional charges for delivery to the Highlands or Islands of Scotland, Channel Isles, Isles of Scilly, Isle of Man or Northern Ireland.

The website is not set-up for delivery abroad, so please contact us by email or telephone for delivery overseas.

We usually dispatch your goods on the next working day following payment; sometimes we are able to despatch on the same day. Please allow up to five days at busy periods. We will email you when the goods are dispatched and also if there is any delay or difficulty.

The stock is shared between our webshop and our physical shop. We endeavour to keep the stock indication on the website current, however it will happen that someone will buy the last item of a line in the shop and someone else will attempt to buy it from the website before the stock level has been updated. If an item is out of stock, then we will email you or telephone you to see if you want to wait until the item will be back in stock, or choose an alternative, or change or cancel your order.

We will use whatever means is most appropriate to deliver your order. This includes Royal Mail and DHL.

Wherever possible we will re-use packaging material (e.g. cardboard).

Payment

We accept the following cards: Visa, MasterCard, Maestro, and JCB. You can pay by card over the internet or the phone. You can also post us a cheque. Whatever method you use, we won't dispatch the goods until payment has been received in full - which can be over a week if a cheque has to be cleared.

Security & Privacy of your data

This website will collect your name, address, email address, phone number and purchase information at the time that you place an order. We use this information in accordance with the Data Protection Act to process your order and to handle any problems with your purchase after the purchase has been made. You are also given an option to add your contact details to our mailing list. If you are included in our mailing list then we will mail you periodically. Please contact us if you subsequently wish to be removed from the mailing list.

Your credit card details are collected by the Protx secure server at the point when you pay for the purchase, and they are not transferred to our website.

Cambridge Lighthouse Limited operates under English law and jurisdiction.

All items for sale comply with appropriate UK safety regulations and many are in daily use within UK schools. Where applicable products comply with EC toy regulations and are CE marked. Some items are not toys, for example science kits, musical instruments and microscopes, and should be used with parental supervision

The liability of Cambridge Lighthouse Limited shall not exceed the price of the goods supplied; Cambridge Lighthouse Limited will not be responsible for any direct or indirect, loss or expense; nor will Cambridge Lighthouse Limited be liable for the quality and fitness for purpose of the goods supplied.

Cambridge Lighthouse Limited has no control over how the product will be used, or by whom. Consequently it accepts no liability for the fitness for purpose of the goods supplied.

Faulty Goods

If you receive an item that is faulty, we will do one of the following at our expense:

• Arrange for a faulty component to be repaired or replaced
• Arrange for the item to be replaced (either by us, or by the UK supplier)
• Arrange for the item to be returned and for you to be refunded.

Your satisfaction is important to us. Contact us by phone (01223 236596) or by email (sales@lighthousetoys.co.uk) if you have a faulty product and we will deal with it as quickly as we can.

Return of unwanted goods

You must inform us within seven working days of the day following delivery if you no longer want your goods, either by post or by email. Unwanted items must be returned within 14 days of informing us. The return of unwanted goods is at your own expense; please note that it is advisable to use recorded delivery as proof of postage does not prove receipt.

In our physical shop we accept returned goods that are in the original saleable condition. This means that the item is unopened, e.g. the cellophane is intact, and is complete with all tags, labels and documentation. We will refund you the cost of the item (not delivery charge) once the item has been received in a saleable condition. The refund will be made as soon as possible, but in any event within 30 days. Please make sure that your contact information (i.e. delivery address) is within the package so that we can identify you.

Disposal of equivalent electrical goods

Under the WEEE 2007 directive, retailers who supply Electrical and Electronic Equipment, which includes electrical and electronic toys, are obliged to finance the disposal of the old, but equivalent, device. We have paid to join the Valpak Distributor Take Back Scheme (registration ID 3474) and so a customer should take their old electrical/electronic toy to a designated collection facility.
